during the height of covid-19 pandemic, much of the world reacted in similar way. we missed opportunity to diversify our response to get through the difficulties on a large scale. on a small scale, many diverse approaches were paracticed and some got acknowledged and registered. much of the people who got impacted adversely were people with underlying issues and didn't have enough energy to regain health.
as human kind faced the challenges, nature experienced small reduction in human activities.
there were mentions from people, being able to see himalayas from as far as from 200 miles. A few generations had not experienced such visuals due to environmental issues.
air was cleaner all over the world, skies were amazingly bluer.
rivers, streams and lakes were cleaner.
noise levels subsided, for fewer flights, reduced mileage on cars, less reliance of transportation, fewer trips.
wildlife moved into heavily trafficked places, like city/town centers, by human beings, as the traffic reduced and the threats of synthetics, noise, smell, commotion were reduced.
social interactions were celebrated, after the initial discomfort, once we had a chance to fine tune our attitudes.
food preparation at home, improved health and gains contributed to longer healthier lifestyle as we celebrated social togetherness.
utilization of soil to grow foods increased, contributing to social, physical, mental health.
while good changes were being noticed, some not as good changes were brewing up:
plastic usage surged, for masks, protection gears, isolation panels, disposables etc. became difficult to manage.
lifestyle during covid was comfortable and affordable, as it contributed to sustainability as well. we should consider continuing the sustainability aspect of it. healthy soil promotes healthy living, cleaner environment supports healthier living.
